Reminder: Upcoming Lead Rulemaking Stakeholders Meetings
This is a friendly reminder of the upcoming stakeholders meetings relating to the lead rule making proposal from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I), Division of Occupational Safety and Health. As mentioned in our previous email on this topic, the proposal comes after the department received a request to review the state’s lead standards in 2013. The first scheduled meeting will take place tomorrow, May 4.
The department will host at least three stakeholders meetings at its Tukwila office located at 12806 Gateway Drive South, Tukwila, WA 98168. The meetings will be held on the following dates:
Friday, May 4 - 9 a.m. - noon
Wednesday, May 9 - 9 a.m. - noon
Friday, May 25 - 9 a.m. - noon
Additional Meetings in June TBD
Ranges and others in the shooting sports industry will likely be impacted by the proposal. Because of the scope of the proposed rule, NSSF asks range and retail members in Washington state to attend the upcoming stakeholders meetings and voice concerns with this proposal.
