SHOT Show Media Blast. Issue No. 2

SHOT Show - January 23-26, 2018

TIPS AND REMINDERS FOR MEDIA

No doubt you’re about to pack your bags—as we are—for Las Vegas to attend the SHOT Show next week, Jan. 23-26, at the Sands Expo Center. The 2018 show marks the 40th anniversary of SHOT and also the 20th time the event has been in Las Vegas. Without question, SHOT is a much bigger and more diverse show than it was when it was launched in 1979 in St. Louis, but one thing is the same—the enjoyment we all get in seeing friends and colleagues from our industry.

We’ve prepared this second edition of the SHOT Show Media Blast to provide some last-minute tips and reminders to make your time at the show the best it can be. If you missed the first SHOT Show Media Blast, you’ll find it in the Online Newsroom at www.shotshow.org/newsroom.

Online Newsroom
Just as the Press Room is the physical hub for media at the show, the Online Newsroom is the digital hub for media. If you’re looking for show press releases, exhibitor press releases, story ideas, show photographs, a schedule of press conferences and SHOT Show Facts and Figures, you’ll find them and more at SHOTShow.org/Newsroom. Also, keep up with SHOT Show news at www.shotshow.org and on the SHOT Show Blog.
Visit the National Shooting Sports Month Booth
Among the many story ideas available to media at SHOT Show is National Shooting Sports Month this August. NSSF would greatly appreciate your help in promoting this coast-to-coast celebration of target shooting. Pins saying #Let’sGoShooting will be distributed at the show, and we encourage you to wear one proudly. Learn more by stopping by the National Shooting Sports Month booth (#2414).
'Women of the Gun' Meet and Greet
Melissa Bachman
‘Women of the Gun’ Meet & Greet
To help support the mission of NSSF’s Project ChildSafe firearms safety education program, 20 top female personalities from the shooting, hunting and conservation community will attend the “Women of the Gun” Meet and Greet on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 4 pm at the Project ChildSafe Booth (#2426). Melissa Bachman, Kristy Titus, Julie McQueen and Julie Golob are among the big names who will be there.

Your Media Badge
It’s important that you always wear your media badge while at the show. Except for international media, all registered media should have received their badge in the mail by now. If you did not receive it, bring your confirmation email to the badge pick-up desk outside the press room on Level 3 of the Venetian to pick up your media badge. International media must pick up their badges at this location as well. The badge pickup desk will be open starting on Sunday, January 21, at 12 p.m.
The Press Room
The NSSF Press Room, home base for all registered SHOT Show media, is in the same location as in years past—the Venetian Hotel, Level 3, Murano Ballroom. For what’s available to media in the press room, see Press Room Resources.
SHOT Show Press Room
Coat/Equipment Checkroom
This room is located inside the press room. A room attendant will be on duty during press room hours. NSSF and show management are not responsible for items left in the coat/equipment checkroom, and all items should be removed each day prior to press room closing.
Industry Day at the Range—By Invitation Only
Attendance at Industry Day at the Range, slated for Monday, January 22, the day before the show opens, is by invitation only from companies exhibiting at Industry Day. Unless you are already registered for Industry Day, please do not show up at the range expecting to gain access.
